On the 8th of March the world celebrated International Women’s Day, and in an effort to commemorate the day the Soul City Institute for Social Justice has partnered with Tekano to host a discussion titled #SheDeservesBetter. The Chief Executive at Tekano, Ms. Lebogang Ramafoko, will form a part of the panel.
The discussion will be hosted on Wednesday, 10 March at 11am and will unpack Feminist Tech responses to ending all forms of gender-based violence and creating safer spaces for young women and girls. The panel will feature various speakers from organisations including SafetiPin (India), Womanity Foundation, AI for Good, PrackeIT Foundation and the National Department of Health.
Tekano prides itself on being a Feminist Programme that addresses the gender-based inequities that adversely affect young women and girls. Taking into consideration the fact that GBV against women is ubiquitous in this country, partnering with Soul City for this discussion, with the abovementioned organisations, is one of the ways that Tekano advocates for social change for the benefit of women across the entire country.
