My work requires that I facilitate epilepsy campaigns and events in the Bushbuckridge District – a vast area 160 km northeast of Dullstroom, in the Mpumalanga province.
As a result, report writing and extensive travelling occupies my work life.
I provide support and Educational services to persons with Epilepsy as well as other disabilities.
In addition, my work also includes providing support and educational services to clients, families and community members. This involves training at schools on disability and related issues. I also collaborate with other stakeholders for collective intervention.
I know the community well since I previously worked as an intern Social Worker for the Thulamahashe Department of Social Development where I engaged and provide support services to members of the community where
I did home visits to follow up on client cases, court work, foster care, elderly care and family law.
