Dr. Bramley Lemine

Is an environmental scientist with a PhD in Environmental and Water Science from the University of the Western Cape. He is based in Kuilsriver in the Western Cape, where he has spent over seven years focused on wetland resource management, especially through the lens of legal frameworks. Bramley is dedicated to the promotion of wetland health and its direct impact on access to clean water, food security, and biodiversity. He has contributed to the field through teaching engagements in both South Africa and Peru, as well as by presenting at international conferences. One of his notable initiatives was hosting a webinar on “A Legal Approach to Designing a Strategy to Improve the Management of Wetlands in South Africa,” which explored how law can better support wetland preservation. Bramley’s research has been referenced in a parliamentary report, which could potentially influence environmental policy. Bramley envisions a world where all species can access the dignity they deserve, driven by sustainable practices that benefit both humans and the environment.
