My journey in health care led me to the field of Public Health Medicine, and working towards health equity at the population level. I hold a joint post with WITS University and the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, Gauteng Department of Health, where I have both academic responsibilities at Department of Community Health, WITS School of Public Health (WITS) and service delivery duties at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH), Gauteng Department of Health.

This includes coordination of undergraduate medical teaching for Public Health Medicine at WITS, support of postgraduate teaching for Public Health Medicine at WITS, supervision of registrar training, support of monitoring and evaluation, strategic and operational planning, evidence based management, cluster management, and relevant training of staff at CMJAH.

I currently am the Chairperson of the Transformation Committee at WITS School of Public Health, and the Vice-President of the Public Health Association of South Africa (PHASA).
