Nqobizwe Mahlangu is a 5th year medical student based in Kwa-Zulu Natal actively working on improving access to SRHR. His primary interests include ensuring sanitary dignity for women and girls, improving access to good maternal care and preventing gynaecological ills. He is also interested in exploring sustainable solutions that alleviate problems using African based solutions. He hopes to reduce health inequity by engaging in education for sexual reproductive health and supporting the drive of making sanitary towels available to those who need them but cannot afford to buy them for themselves.
Nqobizwe believes that everyone deserves equal access to high quality healthcare services regardless of gender, race, economic status, or age. “I hope to grow in leadership, advocacy and expand my knowledge in my area of specialty with particular focus in public health and policy change,” he says.
