Siyabonga Hlongwa Nzimande

Siyabonga Hlongwa Nzimande is a mental health professional and public health expert based in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). He is dedicated to community well-being, with a particular focus on areas affected by HIV and AIDS. His vision is to empower young African leaders to fight poverty and address the impacts of HIV and AIDS by establishing resilient systems and promoting innovation. With over 12 years of experience, Siyabonga is the founder and CEO of Hope2Educate Public Health and Innovation. He plays critical roles in various organizations, leading large-scale initiatives in TB and HIV investigations. Siyabonga is also the leader of the Children’s Sector Technical Working Group under the South African National AIDS Council, and he serves as the KZN Deputy Civil Society Leader under the Premier’s Office HIV and AIDS Directorate. Additionally, he has a strong history of leadership, having previously served as the co-chair of the District AIDS Council, where he collaborated with mayors to promote good governance and leadership in various globally funded organisations. He also contributes as a public health consultant for the development of the National Youth Prevention Strategy under the UNAIDS Country Office in South Africa. Siyabonga’s career values of passion and innovation drive his commitment to ensuring that HIV and AIDS-affected communities receive quality care that upholds international healthcare standards.
