We are excited to share that our lifelong fellow, Lungile Gamede, who is a passionate midwife and advocate for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, has been invited to represent South Africa at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York City, USA, from March 10th to 21st, 2025. Lungile has dedicated her life to improving the health and well-being of mothers and children, working tirelessly in a public hospital where she makes a real difference every day. She feels deeply honoured and aware of the responsibility of representing such a vital cause on the global stage. At CSW69, Lungile will engage in meaningful panel discussions, advocating for increased support and attention to maternal and child health.

She is looking forward to building lasting connections and collaborating with others who share her passion. Upon her return, Lungile is committed to using these new connections to continue raising awareness and pushing for change in South Africa. To make this important journey possible, Lungile is calling for contributions to support her travel and accommodation expenses. Your support will help her participate in this global dialogue, ensuring that the voices of those on the front lines of maternal and child health are heard.
