Tshepo Mokhadi

Tshepo Mokhadi is an Environmental Health Practitioner from Welkom in the Free State with eight years of experience and holds a B. Tech in Environmental Health from Central University of Technology.

Driven by his passion for environmental sustainability, Mokhadi has implemented numerous sustainable hospital green initiatives aimed at reducing the carbon footprint, use of harmful chemicals especially pesticides and waste minimization strategies all in the health sector.

Countless case-studies, conducted by Tshepo, about greener hospital initiatives have been published on greenhospitals.net and also of the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network, highlighting sustainable works and projects undertaken mostly at Bongani Regional Hospital.

The sustainable efforts towards greener healthcare practices were recognized by Health Care Without Harm and UNDP globally, and locally by the National Department of Health has awarded Mr. Mokhadi with the Alfred Nzo Environmental Health award under Innovation category for the development of electronic healthcare waste information system.
