Vusimuzi ‘Vusi’ Zwane

Vusimuzi Zwane is the Programme Manager at the Southern Africa Movement of Mining Affected Communities (SAMMAC). He is an activist working within communities and civil society formations/movements based in Mpumalanga province to address various forms of inequality. Vusimuzi is passionate about mobilising communities and building civil society movements for social change.

Vusimizi believes in creating a space that ensures that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. “This requires strong and decisive efforts towards removing obstacles to health such as poverty, discrimination and their diverse consequences, that include powerlessness and the lack of access to good jobs with fair pay, quality education and housing, safe environments and health care,” he says.
